Flower care
A little care goes a long way
Our flowers never sit on a store shelf. They go from the farm to our fridge, we give every stem a fresh cut within 12 hours of delivery, and then we bring them straight to your home. So your bouquet arrives ready for the vase. A little care after that keeps it fresh for as long as possible.

When your bouquet arrives
Ready for the vase
We text you as soon as we drop your bouquet off. The stems are already trimmed, so it only takes a minute:
-
1
Fill a clean vase
Wash the vase with soap and hot water, then fill it with lukewarm water.
-
2
Add half the flower food
Stir in half of the small packet that comes with your bouquet. Save the other half for later.
-
3
Put them in
Unwrap your bouquet and place it straight in the vase. We gave the stems a fresh cut within 12 hours of delivery, so there's no trimming needed today.
The flower food packet
Half when it arrives, half a few days later
Flower food feeds the blooms and helps keep the water clean, so your flowers can keep drinking. Splitting the packet gives your bouquet a second boost when you change the water.
First half
Mix half the packet into the vase water when your bouquet arrives.
Second half
At your first water change, mix the other half into the fresh water.
Tip: the packet is made for a set amount of water (check the label). When you use half the packet, use about half that much water so it isn't too diluted.
Every couple of days
A quick refresh keeps them going
- Change the water every 2 to 3 days, or sooner if it looks cloudy. Rinse the vase before refilling it.
- A small trim when you change the water, if you can. Snip a little off each stem with clean, sharp scissors so they keep drinking well.
- Pull any leaf that slips below the water. Leaves in the water rot and cloud it.
- Top off the water in between changes so the stems always sit in water.
- Remove any stem that wilts or fades so the rest of the bouquet stays fresh.
Where to put them
Keep them cool and out of the sun
- Pick a cool spot out of direct sunlight. Heat makes flowers open and fade faster.
- Keep them away from heating and cooling vents, drafts and ceiling fans.
Got lilies this time?
As each lily opens, gently pinch off the orange, pollen-covered tips (anthers) with a tissue. It keeps pollen from staining the petals, and your tablecloth or clothes. If pollen does land on fabric, don't rub it in; shake it off or lift it with tape first.
Questions
Flower care FAQ
Why split the flower food packet?
Flower food works best in fresh water. Using half when your bouquet arrives and the other half at your first water change a few days later gives your flowers fresh food again when they need it.
What if I run out of flower food?
Just use clean, fresh water and keep changing it every couple of days. Home remedies like sugar, pennies or aspirin don't work as well as real flower food, and some can even shorten vase life.
The water turned cloudy. What should I do?
Take the flowers out, rinse the vase, refill it with fresh water, give the stems a small trim and put them back. Cloudy water means bacteria are growing, which can block the stems from drinking.
Do I have to be home when my flowers arrive?
No. We leave your bouquet at your doorstep and text you as soon as it's dropped off. Bring it inside and into water as soon as you can for long-lasting freshness.
