Shady Hollow's Flower Shop, Delivered

The Flower Shop That Comes to Shady Hollow

Shady Hollow is a quiet, leafy community on both sides of Brodie Lane, near where it meets FM 1626, with parks along Slaughter Creek that its own residents have looked after for decades. Alegria fits right into that kind of Saturday. We bring seasonal bouquets to your door on a set schedule, so there's no trip up Brodie for flowers.

We're a small, family-run flower subscription from the Austin area. Mom designs the bouquets and makes every delivery herself. Shady Hollow, about ten miles southwest of downtown Austin near the Hays County line, is inside our delivery area. Our flowers travel from the farm to our cooler, get a fresh cut within 12 hours of your delivery, then come straight to your porch. They never sit in a shop, so they're ready for a vase the minute you unwrap them.

Delivery in Shady Hollow, the simple version

Choose one bouquet a month or two. We're out on the 1st and 3rd Saturday from 7 to 10 am, and you pick your Saturday when you join.

The bouquet waits at your door in biodegradable wrapping, and a text tells you it's there, so you can keep your morning plans.

There's no delivery fee, ever. Away that weekend? A heads-up 3 days in advance skips the month at no charge. And since every order is a scheduled Saturday delivery, we can't do same-day.

Our plans

A neighborhood its residents shaped

Development started in 1972, when Austin Savings and Loan began building on 600 acres here. By 1978 homeowners felt the subdivision was being built more densely than they had been promised, so they organized a homeowners association and pushed back. The agreement that followed produced the parks and recreation areas along Slaughter Creek, including the Park on Doe Run, and in 1984 the developer deeded them to the homeowners.

That history is easy to see today. The David C. Ellis Community Center on Doe Run houses the homeowners association office, Capistrano Park has the neighborhood pool, tennis courts and playscapes, and Gatling Gun Park has a walking path and picnic tables. The Shady Hollow Municipal Utility District, created in 1980, covers about 451 acres along Brodie Lane, and Austin ISD's Bailey Middle School is right inside the community on Lost Oasis Hollow.

Meet the family behind Alegria

At heart, Alegria is a family business. Mom creates each bouquet and handles the deliveries herself, and we've shared a few moments from those Saturdays here.

Bluebonnets up the road

A couple of miles northwest, the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center on La Crosse Avenue fills with bluebonnets every spring. Closer to home, Polyphonic Coffee on Menchaca Road is a short drive east for a Saturday cup. Our bouquets follow the seasons too, so no two deliveries look quite the same.

A gift for someone in Shady Hollow

A 3-month gift subscription works for a teacher at Bailey Middle School, a neighbor you got to know at the pool, or family who just moved closer to the grandkids. One payment covers three months of bouquets, and the card message you add at checkout comes with the flowers.
