The Flower Shop That Comes to Wells Branch

Wells Branch has its own library, a skate park, a disc golf course and about six miles of greenbelt trail. What it doesn't have is a florist around the corner, so fresh flowers usually turn into an errand out to Wells Branch Parkway or down I-35. We'd rather make that trip for you.

Alegria is a small, family-owned flower subscription from the Austin area. Mom designs every bouquet and delivers it herself: a wrapped bundle of seasonal flowers, already arranged, that goes straight from the wrapping into a vase. Wells Branch, about 13 miles north of downtown Austin, is inside our delivery area.

How delivery works in Wells Branch

Choose one bouquet a month or one twice a month. Deliveries go out on the 1st and 3rd Saturday, between 7 and 10 am, and you pick which Saturday when you sign up. The bouquet is left at your door in biodegradable packaging, and we send a text the moment it's there, so nobody has to wait around for it.

There's never a delivery fee. Traveling that weekend? Give us 3 days' notice and we'll skip the month at no charge.

One thing we don't do is same-day. Every Alegria order is a scheduled Saturday delivery, which is what keeps it simple.

Between Mills Pond and KF Park

Most of Wells Branch hangs off its greenbelt. The decomposed-granite trail links Katherine Fleischer Park on Klattenhoff Drive, the Willow Bend Pool, the recreation center on Shoreline Drive, the disc golf course, the Wells Branch Community Library on Wells Port Drive and Mills Pond, where the ducks and geese have the fishing pier most mornings. If your Saturday starts with a loop around the pond, or a coffee from the Malone Specialty Coffee roastery on Bratton Lane, the flowers can be waiting on the porch when you get home. That beats adding a stop at the H-E-B on Wells Branch Parkway to the list.

The neighborhood's name goes back to Wayman Frederick Wells, whose family settled on Walnut Creek here in 1855. Since 1987 the community has been run by its own residents through the Wells Branch Municipal Utility District, which also built most of the parks you walk through today.

Alegria is run by our family. Mom designs each bouquet and drives the deliveries herself, and now and then we film a little of it. Here's what that looks like.

A gift for someone in Wells Branch

Wells Branch is split between two school districts, Pflugerville ISD and Round Rock ISD, and it's served by Northwest Elementary, Wells Branch Arts Integration Academy and Joe Lee Johnson Elementary. A 3-month gift subscription makes an easy end-of-semester thank-you for a teacher at one of them. It also works for a neighbor who just moved in near the library or a friend who could use some cheering up.
